"I was willing to make sacrifices. Even while traveling, where there were no facilities, I would spend hours in my hotel room working on my strength. I wanted more than anything else to be a fighter. Then I wanted to be a good one, and after that a great champion."

BREAK--BREAK
Teams 1130 and 1215 ran through some old-style "Plate Drills." These drills, familiar to former Naval Academy football players were designed for in-season strength and conditioning. They were assigned in-between or after summer practice sessions.
Athletes chose a requisite weight "plate" or "bumper" from 10 to 45 pounds. We then ran through a series of pulls, O/H presses, and pushes or "strikes" accelerating the load forward. Movements were performed in single, double and triple repetitions. Finished with scaled push-up drills--"Head to Head" and competition style.
The upper body focus was deliberate and designed to foster lower body recovery.
25 athletes between both classes.
Hang Tough.
